As mentioned previously, I did not bring my camera along (for fear of dropping or losing it). Thus this post is mainly words and some pics I grabbed from random people online...
We took the monorail from Bukit Bintang all the way to KL Sentral only to realise that there was no interchange there, and we had to take the monorail back to Hang Tuah (yes there is an interchange there, and only 2 stops from Bukit Bintang) to change to Kelana Jaya line. The whole train ride (RM4.70 per pax) would have taken us probably 30mins or so, followed by a 10mins bus ride - U623 (RM1 per pax) from Kelana Jaya. Not sure how many stops (because there were random people boarding the bus from the roadside, thus I have no idea which are the real ones) but we alighted right in front of Sunway Pyramid. The mall is so huge that nobody should miss it!
No outside food in Sunway Lagoon, so we bought bread and ate it outside the entrance. The whole park is really huge, and we felt that spending RM135 (used a 10% discount coupon from a travel brochure) which is around SGD48.56 (based on the exchange rate of 2.78) for 5 parks is really worth it!
Here is the layout of the 5 parks (if anybody needs it) - Map of Sunway Lagoon
Since our main intention was to go to the Water Park, we immediately went to change into our swimwear. Do note that they go cashless in the whole theme park - including lockers, rental of equipment like floats and surfboards, as well as merchandise and F&B. You may reload cash into your wrist strap's barcode and any balance will be refunded at the exit area.
Impressed with myself for choosing the Ramadan period to visit Sunway Lagoon, I was really glad to see no queues everywhere! It was a breeze to do all the rides...
To start off, we went for the 5D Waterplexx but were both disappointed as there was no thrill at all. It was just water and water splashed onto us, with aircon blowing at full blast.
We did the African Python - which comes with three different slides (yes you need to queue all over if you are done with one and would like to proceed to the next). You could choose the "all covered up tunnel", "all exposed open-top slide" or the "half half" which is a combo of both.
The Wave Pool was the place we chilled at, every now and then. Thank goodness it was not crowded at all and we had our own personal space all the time.
Since both of us had no courage to go onto the Vuvuzela, we skipped that. Last but not least, we did the Congo Challenge, which scared the hell out of me when I slided down on my own and felt my heart plunge down! I was praying that it will end soon! hahaha...
We also did kayaking, in a very relaxed manner, on the lake... Kayak is part of the Extreme Park, but honestly, it was not extreme at all! Most of the stuff at Extreme Park came with additional fee so we did not do them.
Besides Extreme Park, we spent the most time at Amusement Park. There, I did another terrifying thing - crossing the 428m long Suspension Bridge! (It really felt like forever...) Pretty proud of myself for completing it!
The Wagon Wheel was located at an elevated ground, but it was not scary to me (probably coz I had already done the Suspension Bridge before that). But, I really love ferris wheel so I still enjoyed it.
I also enjoyed the Grand Canyon River Rapids where it was just the two of us, going through the rapids with waterfalls and splashing water all over.
Hubby was super impressed with the Wildlife Park, which he declined to enter initially (thinking it was something boring, with just animals). For me, it was the excitement to see the birds flying everywhere! Whether you are an adult or going there with children, please visit the Wildlife Park. It is super neat!
As we were both drained and aching all over, we went to shower at around 4plus and eventually left the theme park at 5.20pm. A pity we had no more energy to be scared at the Scream Park, but we will visit someday... definitely!
Took a cab back to Bukit Bintang, from Sunway Pyramid and it cost us RM39 for 20mins ride. Too expensive for me - hmmm if we had enough strength and willpower, we will definitely take the public transport.
